Summary
Sükûnet is designed to be privacy-first. Most of your data stays on your device and is not sent to our server. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising software. Data is kept on the server only when you (optionally) create an account and use community features.
1. Data that stays on your device
The following data is stored only on your device and is not sent to the server:
- Prayer settings and worship record,
- Missed-prayer tracking, zakat and charity records,
- Mood/state notes, dhikr counters, vows,
- Personal records such as khatm and reading progress.
Because this data is held on your device, it is deleted along with the app when you uninstall it.
2. Location
Your location is processed on your device; it is used to provide prayer time, qibla direction and nearby-mosque features. No reverse geocoding (deriving an address from location) is performed, and your location is not shared with third parties.
Only when you search for a "nearby mosque", to protect your privacy, a coordinate rounded to about two decimal places is sent to the OpenStreetMap / Overpass service. This represents roughly the area you are in, not your exact location.
3. Analytics and advertising
The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. No cookies or advertising identifiers that track you are used.
4. If you create an account (optional)
For community features you may optionally create an account with email, Apple or Google. In that case the following are stored on our server:
- Your email address and display name,
- Your social sign-in identity (Apple/Google provider ID),
- Your session (login) tokens.
When signing in with Apple, if you choose Apple's "hide my email" feature, a private relay email is forwarded to us; we do not receive your real address.
5. Community content
If you use community features such as khatm circles, dedication circles or the prayer board, the content you share (e.g. prayer text, participation) is kept on the server; sharing it with other participants is the nature of the feature. If you wish, you can share a prayer under a nickname or completely anonymously.
6. Notifications
Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No remote (push) notifications are sent and no push token is collected.
7. Your rights and data deletion
You are in control of your data:
- Within the app you can delete your account and your data on the server via Settings → Delete data (this removes your account on the server and clears the data on the device).
- Removing the app from your device also deletes all local data kept on the device.

8. Children's privacy
The app does not target young children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that data belonging to a child has been shared, we delete it.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published on this page; the "Last updated" date above shows the effective date.
